librecode0 software package provides Shared library on which recode is based, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install librecode0
librecode0 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the librecode0 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep librecode0 *
You will get with librecode0 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
